Now it's time to get down to business. There are a lot of animals out there that are endangered and could use some help. To find out more about these animals and about how you can help them go to http://www.amnh.org/nationalcenter/Endangered.
Another great way to help an animal is to adopt a pet. You can go to this website to find out about adopting a pet of your own. North Shore Animal League At this website there is tons of information about how to adopt a pet and good shelters to go to to find the right pet for you. Right now, I am trying to get my mom to let me adopt a cat. I want to get a cat from a good shelter, so I'll be helping a cat for a good cause. When you adopt a pet, you are taking on a HUGE responsibility. It's up to you to make sure your pet has everything that it needs: food, water, and attention. Whether you like huge animals or small animals, you'll find a pet that suits your style.
Out of the many endangered animals my favorite is the manatee. If you ever get the chance to go to Florida, seeing manatees is a great experience. There is also a great wildlife refuge in Florida called the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. To find out more about this go to J.N \Ding\ Darling National Wildlife Refuge I went to this refuge when I was in Florida and it is amazing! I LOVE animals and there are some really cool ones there. There is even one crocodile, a very endangered animal. There are neat birds and a lot of alligators. The easiest way to tell crocodiles and alligators apart is to look at their noses. An alligator's nose is rounded and u shaped, while a crocodile's nose is pointy and v shaped. Cool, huh? To find out more about all of the different and many endangered species, go to this great, informative endangered species web site.
